What if there was a crypto protocol that focused on resolving disputes within the network?

Imagine if, when prediction markets like Polymarket resolved disputes, users had a formal way to appeal through a neutral blockchain litigation system. Or if decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) could rely on a knowledgeable third party to help them make decisions. Or if insurance contracts could automatically pay out in response to certain real-world events.

In fact, this is exactly what Albert Castellana Luis and his team are developing with GenLayer, a crypto project that positions itself as a decision-making system or trust infrastructure.

“We’re using a blockchain where multiple AIs coordinate and agree on subjective decisions as if they were judges,” Castellana, co-founder and CEO of GenLayer Labs, told CoinDesk. “We’re essentially creating a global synthetic jurisdiction with a built-in court system that’s always available, very inexpensive, and very fast.”

Demand for such an arbitrage project could increase significantly in the coming years due to the development of AI agents – complex programs that can perform difficult tasks autonomously.

In the context of crypto markets, AI agents can be used in a variety of ways: trading meme coins, arbitraging Bitcoin on exchanges, monitoring the security of DeFi protocols, or providing market information through deep analysis are just a few of the possible applications. AI agents will also be able to hire other AI agents to perform even more complex tasks.

Such agents could multiply at an unexpected rate, says Castellana, who believes that by the end of 2025, most crypto market participants will be able to operate multiple such agents.

“These agents are very fast, they don’t sleep and they can’t be arrested. You don’t know where they are. Will they follow anti-money laundering rules? Will they have a bank account? Can they even use a Visa card?” Castellana asks. “How can you ensure fast transactions between them? And how can you create trust in such a world?”

With its unique architecture, GenLayer provides a solution that allows subjects – human or AI – to obtain a trusted, unbiased opinion to analyze any decision in record time. “Wherever there would normally be a third party from a group of humans… We replace their global network
