HashKey Capital has announced the launch of the first investment fund in Asia that will track the performance of XRP, the digital asset integrated into Ripple’s global payments infrastructure.
The new fund, called the HashKey XRP Tracker Fund, will be available to professional investors and will allow them to invest in XRP without having to directly manage the asset. It will offer the ability to purchase with both cash and in-kind subscriptions, and will provide monthly liquidity.
Ripple will be one of the fund’s first backers. The investment cements a strategic relationship with HashKey, which already offers Hong Kong-listed Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) spot ETFs.
The company will continue to work with Ripple to develop additional financial products, said Vivienne Wong, a partner at HashKey Capital. One possibility being considered is tokenizing a money market fund on the XRP Ledger.
Fiona Murray, Ripple’s managing director for Asia Pacific, stressed that the partnership with HashKey is part of a wider initiative to provide institutions in the region with more regulated crypto products.
