Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter (now X) and financial technology company Block (SQ), has unveiled the whitepaper for Bitchat, a decentralized messaging protocol that ensures fully encrypted communication—without the need for an internet connection.
According to the document published Sunday, Bitchat will operate over the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol, allowing nearby devices to form a mesh network to transmit messages step by step.
