Galaxy Digital will deploy 48 megawatts (MW) of its Bitcoin mining equipment at Soluna Holdings' Kati 1 project site in Texas, bringing the facility's total capacity to 83 MW.

Galaxy Moves Miners to Soluna Site as Helios Switches to AI

According to a report published by Bitcoin.com News, the move involves relocating miners that were previously located at Galaxy's Helios campus in Texas. Galaxy is transitioning the Helios center to focus on developing artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.

The decision comes after Galaxy provided debt financing to Soluna in the first quarter of 2025. The new agreement expands their cooperation to an operating partnership. The first phase of the 35 MW Kati 1 project is currently under construction, scheduled for completion this summer.

Soluna said it expects the first phase to be completed by the first quarter of 2026. The 48 MW Galaxy will be deployed in stages during the first and second quarters of 2026. Galaxy will also be the first customer to begin production at the Kati 1 project once construction is complete.

Soluna announced it will provide the complete energy infrastructure and operations for the Galaxy deployment. The 48 MW agreement is Soluna’s largest deployment to date with a single partner, according to the team. Soluna recently completed a 30 MW project in collaboration with another Bitcoin miner.

Soluna CEO John Belizaire said the partnership demonstrates the company’s ability to scale its modular approach to data centers to meet growing demand. Sam Kiernan, head of business development at Galaxy, confirmed the move is part of Helios’ shift away from bitcoin mining.

“As demand from hyperscale miners continues to increase, Soluna is scaling to meet current demands,” Belizaire added.

Once the Galaxy miners are fully deployed at the Kati 1 project, Soluna expects the total operating capacity across all sites to reach 206 MW. The site uses a limited amount of renewable energy.
