Binance Launches Crypto Payments in Kyrgyzstan
Residents of Kyrgyzstan will soon be able to send money abroad more easily and cheaply, and local businesses will gain access to international payments via cryptocurrencies
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan. Here's what we know about the initiative.
Binance Payment Initiatives
On May 4, 2025, Binance and the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing digital assets in the country. The agreement is in line with the strategy formulated at a meeting of the Digital Assets Development Council with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.
A key element of the partnership will be the introduction of Binance Pay to support cryptocurrency payments in the region. This solution is designed to simplify international transfers and trade transactions between Kyrgyzstan, Central Asian countries and members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“The memorandum lays the foundation for a strategy to use blockchain technologies to create sustainable economic opportunities, improve financial inclusion, and promote freedom of money in Kyrgyzstan,” said Kirill Khomyakov, Binance’s Regional Head of CEE, Central Asia, and Africa.
Earlier it became known that Kyrgyzstan launched a digital som.
Binance Educational Initiatives
An important part of the agreement was cooperation in the field of education. Binance Academy, together with the Investment Agency, will develop financial literacy programs for organizations and individuals. The training will cover a wide range of topics: from the basic principles of cryptocurrencies to advanced concepts of digital finance.
Farhad Iminov, head of the National Investment Agency, called the partnership an important step towards creating a reliable digital finance ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of forming a solid foundation for the implementation of cryptocurrencies.
Other Binance initiatives in the region
The deal strengthens Binance’s position in the Central Asian region. Earlier this year, the local branch of the crypto exchange in Kazakhstan announced the launch of the Link program, which will make it easier for businesses to work with digital assets. In addition, the company’s founder Changpeng Zhao became a strategic adviser to the Pakistan Cryptocurrency Board and a consultant to the Kyrgyz government on the development of Web3 and blockchain.
