- Tammy Weinrib has been appointed Chief Compliance Officer for the Americas at cryptocurrency custody company Copper.

- She will reportedly be entrusted with heading the company's licensing campaign in the United States.
Cryptocurrency custodian Copper has announced the appointment of Tammy Weinrib as its new chief compliance officer and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) officer for the Americas, according to a company press release issued Monday.
Weinrib will lead the firm's U.S. licensing campaign and become part of Copper's leadership team based in New York.
Her appointment is part of Copper's expansion in the United States and follows the appointment of Amar Kuchinada as global CEO in October last year.
Weinrib previously served as Chief Compliance Officer and BSA Expert at Binance.US. Before that, she worked at Gemini.
Before moving into cryptocurrency, she built a career in traditional finance, working at Wall Street bank Citi (C), The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), and Standard Chartered (STAN).
“Her appointment represents an important step forward in our growth strategy and expansion of our offering in traditional finance,” said Amar Kuchinad, Copper’s global CEO, in a press release.
In December, Copper said it had withdrawn its application to register with the UK financial regulator.
The decision was part of the company's strategic shift to focus on markets such as the US, Europe and the Middle East.
