Sony Electronics Singapore, together with the crypto exchange Crypto.com, has introduced the possibility of settlements using cryptocurrency.

Sony customers in Singapore can now use USDC stablecoin in their online store.

Sony Electronics Singapore (SES) has launched cryptocurrency payments in partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com, the two companies announced on Wednesday.

Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies whose value is pegged to a real-world asset, such as the U.S. dollar or gold. Circle's USDC is the second-largest dollar-backed token, behind only Tether's USDT.

Singapore-based crypto exchange Crypto.com received approval as a Digital Payment Token (DPT) service provider in June 2023, allowing it to offer customers the option to pay using cryptocurrencies.
