The Ripple-backed National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) launched its work on Wednesday.
Describing itself as independent and non-political, the NCA says its aim is to provide clear and impartial information about how digital assets work and their importance in finance. It says it aims to “demystify cryptocurrency.”
The association has received $50 million in funding from Ripple, and Ripple's chief legal officer Stuart Alderothy will serve as NCA president.
“We provide a platform for voices from all walks of life and act as a benchmark for responsible cryptocurrency use,” Alderoti said in a press release.
