Ethereum again overtook Bitcoin in terms of the number of active nodes

The number of Efirium nodes has grown by 50% in the last two weeks ahead of the launch of ETH 2.0 and for the second time in a year exceeded the same Bitcoin figure.
According to Ethernodes.org, 11,270 Ethereum nodes are active today, while 11,022 active nodes are active in the Bitcoin network. The last time the number of nodes of Ethereum exceeded the number of nodes of Bitcoin in early September. For Etherium, this figure has grown by more than 50% over the past two weeks – on November 15 there were only 8,086 active nodes.

According to the Flippening Blockchain Center index, the increase in the number of Etherium nodes led to an increase in the index from 50.5% to 62.4% during November.
According to the index, the number of active nodes is the third intranet indicator by which Etherium overtakes Bitcoin, along with the number of transactions and the volume of transaction fees.

According to Etherscan estimates, Ethereum conducted almost 1.2 million transactions over the past 24 hours compared to 300,000 transactions in Bitcoin. In addition, the Efirium network processed transaction fees in the amount of $3.6 million over the past day, while the same figure for Bitcoin amounted to $1.4 million.

Recall that on November 24, at the Ethereum 2.0 deposit contract, 524,288 ETH were collected, necessary for stealing and launching the first phase of Ethereum 2.0 – the “signal chain” (Beacon Chain). According to the Beaconcha.in, 878,808 ETH has already been sent to the deposit contract. The genesis of the lighthouse chain will lay the foundation for charding and proof of ownership.

A new version of the network will be launched today at about 15:00 Moscow time, and any member of the cryptocurrency industry can become a validator. The editors of Bits.media have prepared a guide on how to take part in the steaking of Ethereum 2.0.
