Kraken Buys NinjaTrader for $1.5 Billion

Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has entered into an agreement to acquire futures trading platform NinjaTrader. The deal is worth $1.5 billion.

According to the statement, the acquisition will strengthen the exchange's position as a 24/7 technology platform designed for professional traders.

“This transaction is the first step in realizing our vision of an institutional-grade platform where any asset can be traded at any time,” the statement said.

NinjaTrader was founded in 2003. It provides futures trading tools and is registered with the CFTC.

In March, Bloomberg sources reported that Kraken plans to go public in Q1 2026 amid changes in crypto market regulation in the United States.
