Portofino Technologies CFO Mark Blackborough, who is the creator of the cryptocurrency market, has resigned from his position

The former CFO of the Swiss company was based in London and joined the crypto trading firm in September last year.

The CFO of crypto token company Portofino Technologies, Mark Blackborough, recently left the company.

“We can confirm that our CFO is leaving the organization. As part of our growth and adaptation to new market opportunities, we continue to develop our management team to align with our long-term strategic goals,” a company spokesperson said in an emailed comment.

“Changes in leadership, especially in an environment of rapid growth, are a natural part of building a resilient organization. We remain focused on delivering on our mission, achieving results, and growing continuously,” the spokesperson added.

Blackborough had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.

The former CFO of the Swiss company was based in London and joined the cryptocurrency trading firm in September last year.

Before joining Portofino Technologies, Blackborough served as CFO at Enigma Securities, a digital asset liquidity firm. He previously worked at crypto market maker GSR, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Last month, Portofino told CoinDesk that it was considering opening new offices in New York and Singapore.

The company raised $50 million in equity capital in late 2022 and was founded by two former Citadel Securities executives, Leonard Lancia and Alex Casimo, in 2021.

The firm is regulated in the UK, Switzerland and the British Virgin Islands.
