Almost 90% of Bybit funds are traceable

About 89% of the ~500,000 ETH stolen from Bybit remains traceable, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said.

According to him, 7.6% of funds “went into the shadows”, and another 3.5% were frozen.

Lazarus Group hackers converted 86.3% of the coins (440,091 ETH) into 12,836 BTC in 9,117 wallets. 193 BTC were passed through Wasabi Mixer and various P2P vendors.

Zhou noted that “deciphering” transactions related to mixers is one of the key challenges in tracking funds.

Over the past 30 days, Bybit has received 5,012 bounty reports, 63 of which were valid. Zhou called on the community to help investigate.

Earlier, CertiK specialists recorded the transfer of 400 ETH (~$752,000), presumably related to Lazarus, to the crypto mixer Tornado Cash.
