DTTM Operations, which manages the intellectual property rights of US President Donald Trump, has filed a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which could indicate the possibility of creating non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and a metaverse platform.

The document lists various products related to blockchain technologies, including access to NFTs, cryptocurrency transaction management, virtual reality software and hardware, and crypto-token gaming programs for use in online virtual worlds. The filing status states that the application has been accepted by the office and is awaiting examination.

The term “metaverse,” which has gained popularity during the 2021 rally and has been embraced and then rejected by many well-known brands and celebrities, refers to a virtual world where users can interact with each other in a digital space that transcends their physical and geographical limitations.

While the filing doesn't specify what the platform is or when it will launch, it does note the possibility of including various Trump collectibles. “Computer services, namely, the creation of an online virtual environment for the exchange of digital collectibles containing images, sound, video, and text of Donald J. Trump,” the filing says.

Trump has embraced a more welcoming policy toward cryptocurrency, unveiling his TRUMP meme coin and promising to make Bitcoin the reserve currency of the United States. He has also launched his own NFTs, some of which, in addition to being collectibles, have given a limited number of owners access to Trump sneakers, Trump cocktails, and a dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, with Trump himself.
